On Use of SSI macroelement

Post by warcorsario »

Dear Seismosoft

Please, maybe providing some examples on use of SSI macrolement for shallow and deep foundations in seismostruct.

Additionally, you may be able to provide me with the articles listed below, because I cannot find them in the respective journals.

Correia, A.A., Paolucci, R. [2019] “A 3D coupled nonlinear shallow foundation macro-element for seismic soil-structure interaction analysis,” submitted to Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics.

Correia, A.A., Pecker, A. [2019a] “Failure mechanism for laterally loaded flexible piles based on yield design theory,” submitted to Géotechnique.

Correia, A.A., Pecker, A. [2019b] "Nonlinear pile-head macro-element for the seismic analysis of structures on flexible piles," submitted to Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering.

I am afraid that we cannot send you the papers without the authors' consent.
You may request them directly from them.
Regarding the examples, we will publish this week a first example with the use of the ssilink1 macro-element on our models database:

Thanks for example, one questions: What is the criteria to define the n4_ns nonstructural node?

Dear warcorsario,

As it is written in SeismoStruct's Help System: Non-structural nodes are nodes that are not to be considered in the solution of the structure but are instead usually needed to define the orientation of local axes of certain types of elements. No elements of any type can be attached to this type of nodes.
