Moment - curvature

Post by Giova »

Hi!
I have done a pushover analysis of a steel cantilever beam. It has a rectangulae fiber section.

multiplying curvature by EI I get the moment...but it's not the same moment calculated by seismostruct. Why?

thanks

Hi,

- curvatures are calculated at the integration sections, whilst moments are computed for the end sections.

- in the inelastic range, use of elastic EI is not necessarily correct.

Please read the Help System and scientific publications cited in the latter for further clarifications.
