Hi, I would know if in SeismoStruct it is possible to define as acceptance criteria a chord rotation value that depends on the axial force on the same element, as recommended in FEMA 356 or ASCE/SEI 41.
Thanks!
chord rotation
Re: chord rotation
A forum search on 'chord' is in order I think. You will get a lot of previous discussion on this topic and much of it related to FEMA 356.

Re: chord rotation
We confirm that, as noted by huffte, there is plenty of discussion on chord rotation performance criteria in past posts in this Forum, and these should thus be consulted before anything else. There are also plenty of hints&tips in the Help System/User Manual.
Further, we note equally that, currently, users can only define performance criteria that remain constant throughout the analyses and are thus insensitive to the response of the structural elements.
In future versions, however, this might change, and performance criteria that depend on the internal forces developed by the element (e.g. axial load level) will indeed be introduced.
