Hi
I want to model a RC Beam with shear reinforcement (stirrup)
i used "Reinforced concrete asymmetric rectangular section - rcars "
In this model we can choose area and position of Longitudinal reinforcement but there is no place for choose stirrup detail such as area and distance between stirrups .
Can we model a real RC Beam with stirrup and ordinary concrete (not confined concrete )?

Re: Can we model Shear Reinforcement
Hi. As reported in the Help System, current fibre element formulations are not able to model shear deformations (elements are assumed as infinitely stiff/strong in terms of shear). Therefore, modelling of shear reinforcement is not needed.
Note: obviously, checks on the possibility of shear strength capacity having been exceeded must then be carried out at the end of the analysis, as a post-processing activity (or through the introduction of Performance Criteria, if one assumes, for simplification, constant shear capacity).

Re: Can we model Shear Reinforcement
Thanks for your quick and complete answer .
Title of my thesis is "Finite Element Studies of RC Beams Strengthened in Shear with FRP Plates"
I used SeismoStruct for modeling of my specimens.
I want to know "Is this possible to use SeismoStruct for examined effective parameters in FRP shear strengthening of RC beams?"
I send you one of my specimens and its seismostruct model , please do me a favor and check that file .I really confused that Is it possible to use this program for evaluating effect of FRP on shear strength of RC Beam. Please help me!

Re: Can we model Shear Reinforcement
As I am sure you will understand, we cannot really get into the business of freely checking models of our (20000) users, for obvious reasons of lack of time.
In any case, we repeat what we have stated before, the fibre elements currently available in SeismoStruct do not model/compute shear deformation/strength.

I so sorry for this big mistake. Thanks a lot for answer.
