virus warning

Post by vati »

I am trying to install seismostruct in a pc running windows xp but during the installation there is an alert from the antivirus software I use, saying that a "themida" application was detected and the installation procedure stops. I uninstalled what had been installed until that moment, restarted and deactivated the antivirus software and tried to install again. This time there were no warning messages, the installation seemed to be complete but when I tried to execute seismostruct the computer started browsing to find the executable without success. I went to the installation folder and indeed there was no executable. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the Nod32 antivirus software is indeed giving these false alarms on SeismoSoft software (and many other programs as well, as you can read in <http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/ ... 84840.html>).
If you cannot see 'seismostruct.exe' file in your installation folder, then you might need to remove it from the quarantine list/folder of Nod32.
Or you could perhaps try installing SeismoStruct in a different folder (e.g. 'C:/Program Files/SeismoSoft/SeismoStruct-2') with the Nod32 software disabled, and see if that does the trick.

I moved the executable from the quarantine of nod32 and it seems to work fine. Thanks a lot.

The next version of SeismoStruct, due at the end of March-beginning of April, should overcome these problems.
