FRP materials

Post by lpysciei@aliyun.com »

Hi, Dr. Gronti,
I want to remind you that the Official file cannot be open due to error. Would you revise it?
(i.e., 3-STOREY BUILDING STRENGTHENED WITH FRP WRAPS, 21/12/2018)
Best wishes,

Dear lpysciei@aliyun.com,

I checked the file and it works properly. Could you please check if you use the latest version of SeismoBuild 2020?

Dear Dr. Gronti,
Thank you very much for your reply.
The second question,e.g.,
how to build the kinked rebar in the RC section using the fiber beam model.
Thank you very much.
Best wishes,
LLP

Dear lpysciei@aliyun.com,

Unfortunately, this option is not available within SeismoStruct.

Dear All

Can we apply 2 type of FRP in one element section? If we can do that, how to modify ?
How the result of global capacity after we confine with FRP, because only about 5% increase of force after we retrofit with FRP. Please explain about it if I have incorrect result.
thank you

No, it is not possible to apply 2 types of FRP in the same section with SeismoSturct. One has to calculate the combined laminate properties of the 2 FRP sheets and input this in the Sections module.
Note also that the increase in the bending capacity is minimal with FRP wrapping, there is significant increase though in the shear capacity and confinement.

thank you for answer,
how to know the result about stress and strain after confined by FRP if I apply DBPH type, because this type is not descritized to be fiber like FBPH type ?

In order to extract the stresses and strains of the frame member, you will need to use one of the other frame element types, infrmFB, infrmFBPH, or infrmDB.
