Hello,
I am trying to do my own verification against experimental results, however, I am facing a common issue which is that all seismostruct results are very pinched at the center compared to the experimental graphs. I have tried changing the curve parameters for the steel as I have read in the manual that those may affect pinching, but I have seen no difference when changing those. Any advice for this situatuon?

Re: Pinched Hysteresis Effect
Changing the concrete confinement factor usually affects the pinching effect in the hysteretic diagrams.

Re: Pinched Hysteresis Effect
Based on my Seismostruct knowledge, the confinement factor is automatically calculated based on the confinement selected, and I am sure of the confinement details I have entered.
Is there way to change that factor manually?

Dear Ralazem,
You may edit the section, select the Sections Characteristics tab, deselect the Automatic Calculation of Confinement Factors check-box and assign the value you want to.

Re: Pinched Hysteresis Effect
I have attempted that and there is no change in the pinching effect. Are there any other factors that may affect it?

Re: Pinched Hysteresis Effect
Other parameters are the ratio of the longitudinal reinforcement, the axial load the existence and not of P'delta effects,
