T section (rcts)

Post by Niki »

Hi, I have two questions on T-section rcts:

1) Where is the origin of the local axes system located? Is it on the centroid of the section? if yes, is there a way to change that?

2) The software automatically assumes that the confined area is also T-shaped. Is it possible to change it to a rectangular one (e.g. in the section web)? If not, will future versions offer more options to the users?

Thank you.

Dear Niki,

1) the local axes refer to the base of the section. Refer to the Help System or run some simple parametric studies (requesting output in 'stress points') in order to further scrutinise this matter, if you so wish.

2) no, it is currently not possible to change the confinement area definition, and we have no plans to change that in the near future, we are afraid.
