pushover for a beam

Post by newman »

I have a RC structure in seismostruct program. I need a vertical pushover to one of my beams. I have two question in this way:

1- Is it correct that I de-active all of my element except the considered beam and do a vertical force pushover on this beam? are the analysis results true? If its not true, what is your suggestion for my purpose by seismostruct?

2- I want to create a performance criteria for shear capacity, but, I don't want to use the EUROCODE equation. I only want to have a notification when the beam reach to a specified shear force which I determine and specify for the beam. Can I do this? If it is not possible, is the analysis results are true if I change the Eurocode coefficients to 1 to have only notification for a special shear value?

1. The best way is to create a new model. If you deactivate the ther member, you will not have correc support for the beam
2.There is a specific performance criterion that considers a specific shear value, and not the shear capacity
