Geometric non-linearity & shear in pinned col

Dear Seismosoft (and/or forum members),

I have a column for modelling P-delta effects which is pinned at each end. When I run an analysis with geometric non-linearities on, this member develops a non-zero shear forces and the axial force is less than expected. Clearly this is some issue relating to how the member local axis are defined (or something to this effect). Can you please tell me if there is a reason the program is written in this way? In my opinion this is an erroneous output.

Are you using a force-based convergence check? If not, this might be the reason for the erroneous force values.
