simultaneous multiple time-history analyses

Post by nina_serdar »

hi!
I have a question: is it posible to run in one model several independent time history analyzes, wich have no impact on each other and always act on unstressed construction.
For example in bridge model I want to compare structure reponse for several earthquakes.
Thanks

Hi nina-serdar.

I have accomplished this by having multiple models of the same structure defined in the same SeismoStruct file and applying the different loads to each independent structure.

Obviously, this method would only be viable for very simple structures because you need as many "copies" of the structure as there are load cases you wish to analyze.

The only other way I have found to do this is to have multiple copies of the same SeismoStruct file in which everything is the same with the exception of the loading definitions.

Best of luck, nina_serdar.

Thanks.
