Unable to apply the next load step. fbd_Ite

Post by omar.gonzalex »

hello, I have a problem when I'm doing the dynamic time-history analysis.
I searched the other forums and can not find a solution to my problem.

These are the simulation data structure that I used:

Columns: hollow square steel 80mm * 80mm * 4mm
Beams borders: reinforced concrete: 62.5mm * 300mm
Center beams forming grid 5 * 5: 62.5mm * 420mm reinforced concrete
My problem is that roof has an additional mass of 70 ton. When I try to add in the option section-mass & Geometrical charactristic-Section Additional weight when calculating I have this error.

Permanent Loading
-----------------------------------------

LF= 1.00000, LF_incr= 1.00000 (Iter: 1 => Converg)

Variable Loading
----------------------------

Time
Time= 0.00000, dt= (Iter: 0 => fbd_Ite)
Time= 0.00000, dt= (Iter: 0 => fbd_Ite)
Time= 0.00000, dt= (Iter: 0 => fbd_Ite)
Time= 0.00000, dt= (Iter: 0 => fbd_Ite)
-----------------------------------------
Unable to apply the next load step. Analysis terminated

I've also tried to increase the specific gravity of the section to avoid having to add additional mass but still has the same error.

is there any way to fix this error?. I hope your answer thanks.

There seems to be an error in your model, since, apparently, no dynamic loads have been defined.

Try creating a dynamic analysis model with the Wizard facility, and compare the way the dynamic loads are defined in such wizard example with the manner in which you have defined things in your model.

Hello, if I have defined dynamic loads but have not put on. As I have load dynamic acceleration data in the same structure explained, made experimentally in the dynamic table.

I want is to compare these data with those obtained in seismosoft, but I can not get a result.

As we noted in the email we sent you, suggesting you to send us your model, we continue to be convinced that there is an error in your model.

i am doing a pushover analysis on a 2D 4 story RC Frame. i was unable to complete the analysis.it is showing an error message "unable to apply the entire load".

If you carry out a search on this Forum for the term "unable to apply" you should find plenty of posts on this matter.
The Seismosoft's video about solving convergence difficulties might also help you. You may view it in the following links:
