wall incorporating tendon

Post by jwsc90 »

Hi, im currently doing a research on post tension wall with tendon at the core of the concrete. i have tried to have additional steel as a tendon, but when processing takes place, the tendon is not moving together with the pushover action (Real time drawing of the deformed shape). what should i do to ensure that the analysis considered the tendon together?

If you try a forum search on the term 'prestress' you will get a few hits, some of which refere to post-tensioning in the core of a column. Perhaps this might be a good place to start exploring modeling options for your wall.

If the wall is modeled as a line element, then you might be able to model the post-tensioning bar as a line element with the same 1 and 2 nodes as the wall line element.

Best of luck.
