P-Δ effects

Post by asivals »

Hi,

I am a new user of SeismoStruct and I am sorry if the current question has been already replied.

I would like to know is it possible to run a pushover and dynamic time-history analysis without P-delta effects?

I am examining the theme which considers comparing of those effects in linear and nonlinear seismic analysis, and also the influence of those effects on the seismic behavior of some specific RC frames...

Thank you very much!

Asivals, you may always go to:
Tools->Project Settings->Analysis
and un-check "Include Geometric Nonlinearities".

I would recommend that you read the Help System topics:
Project Settings->Analysis and
Theoretical background and modeling assumptions->Geometric nonlinearity

to become intimately familiar with the implications of this setting and to assess whether or not this is the behavior you wish to model.

Best of luck asivals.
