Problems Changing Units

Post by huffte »

When a model is defined in one set of units, and later converted to a different set of units, any defined Sections containing reinforcement patterns do not get properly adjusted with regard to the reinforcing patterns.

The Section becomes inaccessible from within SeismoStruct. If one attempts to Edit the Section to adjust the reinforcement pattern, an error message appears.

For example, if a model is created in metric units with 25mm reinforcing bars used in a pattern for reinforced concrete sections, and the user changes the units to English, everything seems fine initially. However, once you try to run the model, the reinforcement pattern is found to be invalid. Once you try to edit the Section to cange the reinforcement pattern, you get an error that 25mm bars are an invlaid type.

So it appears that reinforcement patterns were omitted from the algorithm which adjusts dimensions and properties wen a units change is made.
