FRP confined concrete model

Post by Abolfazl61 »

Dear SeismoStruct

I have searched several times in the past discussion, but I could not find the clear answer for my question. It would be appreciated if you tell me could we use any FRP-confined concrete model other than the one introduced in the SeismoStruct?

Kind regards,

Dear Abolfazl,

in SeismoStruct you can only use the available materials. However, and if I remember well, other users in the past asked for the introduction of new materials, etc. Have you read the following topic: http://www.seismosoft.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=32 ?

Dear Federica,

Thans for your help. This topic is related to implementation of a new model to SeismoStruct and is a tedious work. In available materials do you know how do you introduce unconfined concrete? namely cover concrete?

Sure. For example, if you're using the common Mander et al. nonlinear concrete model you have to assign "1" to the confinement factor (-> no confinement).

Thanks. and for confined concrete how do you use mander confinement factor (K)? in calculating that I am not sure about the number of spaces between longitudinal spaces? Does it mean between longitudinal spaces which are located between shear reinforcement?

Dear Abolfazl61,

Please do refer to the available literature, indicated in the Help System, for this type of clarifications.
