Hi all,
I had created a model and ran the analysis. Everything went fine. Aftenwards I closed the program. When I opened the exact same file after a few days there was a massive grey block surrounding my model, the load "vectors" were extremly large and the analysis fail to ran.
It's been only a few days since I've started using the program. I would appreciate any help.

Re: error after closing and re-opening the model
Two options might be considered to do at the moment:
1- Open your spf file (SStruct project file) in a text editor environment such as Windows TEXT or Notepad. You'll see your input parameters all as text in this file. Try to see that if you may find any unusual character such as "$" , "®" or some other strange symbols like these in your input file. I have no idea but sometimes I have seen my input files have had this problem and just deleting them returned the models to the original situation.
2- If method 1 didn't work, open two SStruct at the same time. Open one including your corrupted model and one for the new model. Just copy and paste your input parameters from the previous model to the new model windows in the relevant box. Modeling in SStruct is straight forward and re-creating them thanks to the EXCEL-type environment is super easy.
Good luck on re-covering your model.

Thank you!
I followed your second suggestion and managed to recover the model.

Re: error after closing and re-opening the model
lupolupo hi,
The problem was probably caused by the wrong units set on the project (e.g. having N and mm as units but with node coordinates 3, 4, 5 etc. instead of 3000, 4000, 5000 ...). The massive grey block is the restraints (huge with respect to the very small coordinates).
Under normal circumastances this should not happen. Did you open the spf file with a text editor? Or did the program crush, when you tried to change length units?

Re: error after closing and re-opening the model
I didnt use a text editor nor tried to reset the units (the units were set by default to kN,m). I merely tried to switch from static pushover analysis to dynamic time history and the entire model "scaled down" to mm and N.

Dear seismo,
this thing is getting really annoying every time I close and open a file (after computer restart) I get the same error.

This is really strange. Can you please send the file support@seismosoft.com, also describing the steps that you follow to get the strange behaviour?
Thank you,
