Wizard number of frames

Post by kalianis »

Why the wizard goes up to a max of 8 frames and bays? Almost any structure requires much more than 8 frames. I am aware that if more frames are required it can be done manualy but this way is time consuming and mistakes when defining local axis may arise. Do you plan to increase this number?

Thank you

Dear Kalianis,

The reason for this limit is the automatic node naming convention, which becomes quite cumbersome once you go above a number of 9. A careful copying&pasting exercise should in any case allow you to readily overcome such limit.

We note also that the global database on buildings around the world shows that, contrary to your statement, the vast majority of structures features much less than 8 frames, but we accept that your line of work/research perhaps leads you to work with large buildings mainly.
