Hi,
I'm modelling a bridge pier and i have a rettangular hollow section with central septum.
The central septum is parallel to the bridge axis .
How can i model this type of section?
Thanks

Hi Iina,
For the time being, I don't think you are able to explicitly model that section in SeismoStruct.
One possible solution is to model 2 U-shaped sections (pier) and an additional rectangular (ceptum) and artificially connect the 3 sections with rigid links.
Other possibility, that will obviously depend on the scope of study that you are performing, might be to define the reinforcement of the septum in the hollow section (close to the septum ends). Because typically the bridges are controlled by its transversal behaviour, this way, the piers flexural capacity will be very similar.
Cheers,
Romain
