how to simulate the cable structure?

Dear SeismoSupport:
how to simulate the cable structure in Seismostructure?
I have tried many methods to simulate cable. For example I used trusses in series to simulate the cable. Another method is beam elements are in series and hinged link use between each beam element. But I found these method could cause in disconvergence under the permanent load.
In fact I must analyse a problem of cable structure like the pendulum. Could you give me some suggestions on this problem?
