fbd_ite during processing

Post by vincenttt »

Hi there,

I was trying to model a interchange of bridge with bearing and fix connection. After clicked the processor, the software calculated for about 9mins and then it stopped with fbd_ite. I have searched the 'fbd_ite' , 'convergence problem' or 'link element' in the forum, but I can't find any valuable information about my problem. So I just hope that you can teach me about how can this occur and how i can solve. Thank you!!!

Dear vincenttt,
You can refer to Numerical instability, divergence and iteration prediction topic of the help system for more details.

vincenttt,

In addition to z-gronti's valid suggestion, we recall that, as noted in many Forum Posts already, a very common cause for the analysis behaviour that you are observing is actual structural failure.

And, clearly, if a structure has reached its ultimate capacity, there is not much you can do in order to get the analysis to continue; it simply can't...
