Hello

How can I define the failure displacement for the ramberg osgood link model for modeling energy dissipative device , if it is possible,since after applaying the load protocol the device fail ,and I want to compare the analytical results with the experimental results therefore at the moment of failure the displacement and load curve alter in the experimental model while in the analytical model the behavior is continuous as a result ,the above mentioned curves are different how can I overcome the trouble

Currently there are no performance criteria for link elements in SeismoStruct (something that we are planning to deal with in the near future). What you can do now is to track the time or load factor for which the device fails and deactivate it.

I have another question, how can I give the load factor in the activation and deactivation part, as when I give the number program consider them as times ,plus, my analysis is static time history and I give the displacement as a load, do you mean the input displacement as load factor or the link hysteresis load (F) or hysteresis displacement(D) as a load factor in activation and deactivation part.

You can run the analysis once, and check the time-step at which your performance criterion (i.e. failure) is reached. Then re-run the analysis with that particular element deactivated at that time-step (you need to define a new element class, particularly for that element, in order to do this)
