hello;
when we use an dynomic Ida analysis ;in the lower intensity acceleration steps if a yielding or fracture happens for model does software consider those in next runs with the same record or in any scale factor analyses perfect model?

Re: IDA
Dear abazvand,
As correctly noted by Romain, each run within an IDA analysis is independent.
If you wish to model damage accumulation, you should run a single nonlinear dynamic analysis with several records applied to the structure in succession.

Re: IDA
This is a very important issue for which many designers have a wrong picture: there is no damage accumulation in IDA as it is in Pushover, so it is wrong if someone uses the term “dynamic pushover” for IDA as it is commonly used) because it results to a bad understanding.
In my opinion, the whole term “Incremental Dynamic Analysis” should be different in order to be clearer about what it represents (maybe just the term “Analyses” instead of “Analysis” would be o.k). But this is a personal opinion anyway.
