Hello every one
Would you please guide me how calculate inelastic strain energy spectra ?
You can use the following formula:
Es=0.5*K*U^2
Es=max(strain energy)
k=stiffnes
U=max(displacements)
K=M*W^2;
If the formula is correct What is the value M=Mass?
strain energy spectra
Re: strain energy spectra
I don't see how the given formula would apply for inelastic energy. It appears to be a formula which would only apply in the elastic case.

Re: strain energy spectra
Perhaps this is a question better answered via a literature search as opposed to a SeismoSignal question? Best of luck.

Dear huffte
tanks.There's software that can calculate inelastic strain energy spectra?

Re: strain energy spectra
I am not aware of any software and honestly, I'm afraid I have never even heard of an inelastic strain energy spectrum bakhtiyar. I think you will be best served by a literature search on the topic. Best of luck with your work.
