i'm doing my masters degree , my thesis subject is about pushover analysis of concentrically steel braced frames, actually i was intending to use sap2000v15 , but no previous literatures use sap2000 , all use different software , in an engineering forum somebody told me that i have to use research softwares rather than the commercial software, and because i dont have previous knowledge with seismostruct, what can make the seismostruct to supersede such software like sap2000 in the field of research, can you please brief for me why (if applicable) using seismostruct will benefit me more?
waiting for your answer , which is so important for me.
shall i use seismostruct or no?

Dear hani.akkari,
This is obviously a very general question, which cannot really be answered that simply, and certainly not in this Forum.
You should start by carrying out a literature review on the research topic of your interest, to try to understand what modelling tools have been adopted by others in the past, and then, of course, run some trial analyses with different software to understand which will fit your needs best.
