Hello.
I have been working with cantilever walls. from 7.5m to 20 m long. I need to obtain the shear and moment distribution at each floor so I am modelling 2.5 m long elements.
Such distribution is quite difficult to run using a force convergence criteria which is recommended for these cantilever walls. After several attemps and very small time steps I was able to run all of them in a previous version of the program. However, with the new version the program stops after a few steps. Does anybody know what changes were made to cause this?
Thank you

Re: Convergence diffculties
Hi,
One should employ the much more demanding force-based convergence criterion only if its absence leads to spurious jumps in the response curves (not eliminated by a tight displacement-based criterion).
Hence, if your analyses without a force-based convergence criterion produce reliable results (e.g. similar to those previously obtained with the force-based criterion activated), then you may proceed in this manner.
If, on the other hand, you do need to run the analyses with a force-based criterion activated, we would need to see the model itself in order to be able to provide hints on how to overcome the experienced difficulties.
