EC8's Nonlinear Static Procedure

Post by elenavaseva »

I would like to know with this program can I make modal spectral analysis with EC8 .Where i could define this spectar to receive effects of seismic loads
- can I recieve the performance point Capacity spectrum$Demand spectrumSASD coord system
P/s The first example for very simple frame with your proposal works
Thank you

Hi Helena,

SeismoStruct allows you to perform a nonlinear static analysis. However in order to determine the performance point of your structure you need to do the calculations separately.

Since it looks that you are using a non-linear static procedure to assess your structure, allow me to provide you an additional comment: note that by making use of 1 force-based elements per member, you can directly assess, from the post-processor, the chord rotations and base-shears demands of you elements.

Hope it help.
Cheers,
Romain

Dear
Thank you for your description If I well understand with this program I could not make capacity spectrum SDSA for different limit state similar with this in SAp 2000.
I have a lot of problems with Pushe over analysis and unfortunatley after many types to run program I did not received any relationship shear force displacement for example. I would be very gratfully if you could check my small test. I am sorry that I make trouble for you but i need verry fast to make some example for my student for application of EC8 and speciialy for pushover analysis
