Pushover and reduction of strength according to KAN.EPE

Post by draven »

Dear Seismostruct team.

When i do pushover analysis i want the strength of the members to fall to 25 % (and remain) when they fail as KAN.EPE suggests. So i go to pushover analysis-check via code and there i can do that. The program has the option to do that for both shear and moment. I want to model according to KAN.EPE which means that if a failure happens due to shear, then moment goes to 25% and shear to 25%. If the failure happens due to moment then the moment goes to 25% and shear to 25%. What is the option to do that? I mean if i select that shear goes to 25% if failure is due to shear, will moment also fall to 25 % or no?

Merry Christmas

Yes, once the code-based check is reached all the response parameters of the member (stiffness, shear, bending moment) drops to the specified percentage, e.g. 25%
