Beam and wall modeling at the same floor level

Post by jsalves »

Hello,

I'm facing a problem and wanted to know if there's any way to solve it on SeismoStruct.

I need to model a wall that doesn't reach the full height of the floor and has a beam above it. The program only allows me to place either a wall or a beam on that floor (see attached image, right side).

Additionally, is there any way to model a beam that extends both above and below the floor (see attached image, left side)?

Thank you!

You can easily model all these outside the Building Modeller facility, at the SeismoStruct main window, with the manual (i.e. without automation) definition of nodes and elements (with the appropriate offsets).

Thank you for your reply, can you guide me with a page of the manual or a a similar tutorial?

Looking forward your reply.

I do no think that there is a tutorial describing this type of modelling; it is simply a manner of connecting different elements through common nodes or rigid links.
