incremental dynamic analysis (IDA)

hello everyone,

i am doing incremental dynamic analysis on an eight story base isolated building building.
the analyzation takes too long with very large file sizes (in GB), for a single incremental dynamic analysis it took more than 22 hours.

details of the ground motion record and the scale factors:
T=41 sec, scale factors: 0.1-1.7, step:0.3

is there any way to reduce the analyzation time? and the file size?

i need to do several IDA, it will take a month if it takes that much long.

You could reduce the size of the results file by selecting to output only some of the node and the element data (see Output page in the pre-processor). Regarding the analysis time, make sure that you are using a recent version of the program (after v2022), which has parallel analysis capabilities.
