analyses do not start

Post by KingGiorgione »

Hi.
[:)]
I am using for the first time Seismostruct, and as the first test I modeled a 2D frame. For any analysis that I do (regardless of the type of "Element Classes" used), I get the same error:
"The tolerance for the convergence checks of the force-based plastic-hinge element type Should be a positive number".

Moreover, in the case of "eigenvalue Analysis" I have the following problem:
"The inertia forces Have Been suppressed in all three translational direction. Seismostruct can not run the eigenvalue analysis.

Someone can help me?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Without seeing the actual model, it is difficult to assess what it might be going wrong.

One possible guess (and it is nothing more than a guess) could perhaps be that there is an incompatibility with the convention being used by your system to represent decimal digits.

We thus wonder if you have tried to change the decimal places representation from "," to ".", and then start the program again, recreating the model (perhaps using the 'Wizard', so as to render it all faster)?
