with SeismoStruct it is perfectly possible to model 3D structures. Please try to use the Wizard facility (3D frame) and refer also to the Help System.

Hi,
I need to model a structure, with 3 columns in a line. With this model, I need to calculate both in and out-of plane behavior together. So, is it possible?

Hi samyreza.
According to your description, and without particular knowledge about your model, I believe, as already mentioned by Federica, that it is perfectly possible to do so with SeismoStruct.
For instance, a bridge structure, to be analysed in both transverse and longitudinal directions, is often a model with column elements in the same plane. For that sort of modelling, SeismoStruct has been already used several times.
I would then suggest you to check if there are any issues that are causing instability in your model, such as non restained nodes at the base of the columns in the transverse direction, or so. You can as well provide us with further details of your model or what you intend to do.

Thank you. I have assigned the x+y+z+rx+ry+rz support at the bases. I used infrmbd elements, therefore member ends are not moment released. I am trying just to analyze it for in and out of plane permanent load. My ultimate goal is to perform pushover analysis. Can I send the seismostruct file to you, so that you can take a look?
