Period of equivalent single degree of freedom system

Post by Koloubos »

Hello, when modeling a structure, is the period and mass of the equivalent single degree of freedom system available somewhere in the post processor results?

Hi Koloubos. I assume you are referring to an 'equivalent sdof' used in direct displacement based design and analysis. I don't think you will find that, as there are multiple means of making that determination in the literature, while SeismoStruct is a full model with no need to reduce to an equivalent sdof. Or, perhaps if you are referring to something else, perhaps you could clarify just a bit. I hope this helps.
