(Retaining) Shear Walls in the Basement

Post by emreakin »

I have to model a building with reinforced concrete (retaining) shear walls at the circumference of the building in the basement. In some other software, I was modeling the shear walls as reinforced concrete panel elements where the soil property is defined as a spring coefficient. How am I going to model this type of reinforced concrete walls in the basement in Seismostruct? Is there any particular type of element or section for this. I should note that I prepare my models generally by using Building Modeller.

You may choose one of the around 70 section types of the program. There is a particular section type for basement walls (walls without the pseudo-columns). Regarding the soil properties you can also define linear or nonlinear link element at the end nodes of the elements
