Hysteretic curve as pushover data

Hello,

I am trying to do some verification testing. I have some hysteretic curves that I would input as loads/displacement. what is the best way to do it?

pushover? adaptive pushover?

Please advise.

Although it is possible in SeismoStruct to apply cyclic loading in Pushover analysis, using Response Control with several different Phases, probably the best way to apply the hysteretic loading curves is Static Time-history Analysis.

How would I do that? I have the graph in the form of Force-displacement. How would you suggest I change it to a force-time graph?

You would have to apply either the force history or the displacement history to your model. Verification would then consist in retrieving either the displacement history (in the first case) or the force history (in the second case) from the results and plotting the input/output to see if it matches closely with your known results.

yes I understand, but how should I obtain the force-history from data which only consists of force-displacement?

The force-displacement data that you mention seem to us more like the results of the analysis rather than the loading.
Typically the loading consists of force or deformation time-histories on selected nodes.

My understanding is the same as that of seismosoft, Ralazem. As I previously mentioned, you could apply the displacement versus time as your loading. From the results you could obtain the particular force of interest versus time. So the input is displacement versus time. The output is force versus time. Combining the two will give the desired force versus displacement plot. If I have misunderstood your strategy, perhaps a little more elaboration on what it is you wish to verify would be of help.
