I plan to use Seismostruct in my studies. I would however like to verify results from Seismostruct with my own calculations/programming. My plan is to write a small application to verify results for a small example. For this purpose I have consulted literature and found the following:
F. F. Taucer, E. Spacone and F. C. Filippou, ‘A fiber beam-column element for seismic response analysis of reinforced concrete structures’, EERC Report 91/17, Earthquake Engineering Research Center, University of California, Berkeley, 1991. (Available from http://vlee.utpl.edu.ec/VLEE/LinkClick. ... 42&mid=520)
Since this was published in 1991 my question is simply if the fiber beam-column element discussed herein is still used in Seismostruct, or has significant progress been made so that Seismostruct's element is more advanced/better. If the latter is true, I would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
Thank you very much

Re: Theory behind fiber beam-column elements
All of Seismostruct's underlying theory can be found in the publications indicated in the different chapters of the Help System, which we strongly suggest you to read.
