difference between two models: in sap and seismost

Post by limaei »

dear admin:
i have a problem in eigenvalue analysis. i modeled a three stories in seismostructure software and the same model in sap 2000 software.
but the period of two model is different about 10% to 15%.could you please give me any help to reduce difference between two models?i think that the definition of mass in two software is different but i don't know how it is?
i am looking forward for valuable comment

best wishes

thank you

As noted in the Help System, and in this Forum, we cannot afford to provide our 20000 users this type of free technical support. We simply do not have the time.

In any case, we note that we have in the past carried out comparisons such as the one you mention, and the results proved to be essentially equivalent. Please make sure the two models are truly identical, especially for what concerns the Elastic Modulus of the concrete (see Help System section on eigenvalue analysis), if yours is an RC frame.

Kind regards,
