IDA-Relative Displacement

Hi All,

How SeismoStruct calculates the relative displacement? I specified two node to calculate the relative displacement to get the response maxima of relative displacements vs incremental time steps. However, when I subtract the displacements of Node1 from the displacements of Node 2, I dont get the same values.

Please note that the maximum interstorey drift is not equal to the subtraction of the two maximum node displacements.

Dear pop4ti,

You should calculate the interstorey drift at every step output and then find the larger value of them.
