3D Moeling of Foundation

Post by khansefidali »

Hi Seismosoft Team
I'm working on a model to evaluate the effect of the isolation devices to reducing the vibration noise (Impact) of the dynamic device .
it is very important for me to model the foundation in 3 dimension in order to evaluate the performance of isolation device.
Is it possible to model a 3d mat foundation with some isolator installed on top of it in seismostruct?
With regard

I'm not certain what type of mat foundation you are using, khansefidali. If it is a mat supported directly on the ground then you could use an orthogonal grid of nodes with slab strips modeled as either elastic (most likely), or inelastic frame elements. If you have a pile supported mat, then you could still use the grid, but with added vertical frame elements supported laterally by series of springs.

Thank you very much huffte,
I'm modeling a mat foundation, how can i model it as a orthogonal slab strips or frame elements?
Is there any classical method?
