zero diagonal terms

Post by LuCanic »

Hi,
when I start the analysis (pushover or IDA) the program gives me the following warning "zero diagonal terms" for some points of the structure. They Are the points of the dummy column that I use to simulate the P-D effects.
Depends on what? how can I solve the problem?

However, the program carries out the analysis.

Kind regards,

This is a warning message that informs the users that some diagonal terms in the stiffness matrix of the structure are zero, which is some cases might cause instabilities. There are other cases though (e.g. rotational DOFs in trusses) where this is not a problem. If your model runs simply ignore the message.
