May I be so bold as to ask the reason for needing to retain only that portion of the acceleration time history within the significant duration?

Certainly, you may manually observe the times at which the Arias Intensity reaches 5% and 95% of the total value from the tables on the Ground Motion Parameters -> Intensity Parameters tab.
