Time History load curve error

Post by lupolupo »

Hi,

I'm trying to load one of the default load curves from the installation folder of the program and the following error appears: Non Numerical Input: Frequency.

Anyone knows why this is happening?

Thanks

The reason that the "Non Numerical Input: Frequency" error happens is because the numerical values of the default time histories installed start from Line 6. Simply in the "New Curve from File" window in the "First Line" tab put 6 or 7. That will solve the problem and you'll see the acceleration time-history correctly.

SStruct has a great feature when creating the Load Curve. If you want to load any load curve (such as acceleration timehistory) from a file that you don't know what is the first line or last line, or what is the time step; you can simply click "View Text File" in the "New Curve from File" window and SStruct will open the numerical values of the load curve in a new window. You can easily scroll up and down through the file to see what is the first or last line, or the time increment. This feature will greatly help you when dealing with large number of PEER ground motions.
