Re: Concrete Cracked Section

Hi
It would be great if anyone could give me idea about how to model cracked concrete? I want to model a frame that has cracked concrete or already damaged concrete in its column. How to do that?

Re: Response spectum and ground motion parameters

Hi
Can you tell me what does the "Response time-histories" under the "elastic/inelastic response spectra" tab mean? How is it calculated? How is it different from my input time-series?

My understanding is that it is the scaled time history obtained from normalised reponse spectrum? By normalised ...

Re: zero diagonal error in 2d model

Hi
I am trying to model an experimental setup of a 2D frame where axial loads on both columns (through hydraulic jacks) and a cyclic load on 1st column are being applied. Material properties are okay and all the 3 members are connected. Still my model gets terminated and says "Unable to apply the ...

Re: Zero diagonal terms

Hi!
Can you kindly tell me how to get rid of the "zero diagonal terms" error message in the top node of a cantilever column? My analysis is being terminated because of this.

Re: Concrete Filled Steel Tubes (CFST)

Thanks. I was able to solve the problem.
Another query: What could be influential factors behind the values of the negative side of global hysteresis curve of a structure? The positive side of my hysteresis curve matches very well with experimental result but the negative side (both force and ...

Re: Concrete Filled Steel Tubes (CFST)

I have tried using both the force-based and displacement-based inelastic elements. I have omitted the link element for joint behavior. Still it says "Unable to apply the entire permanent load. Analysis terminated" even though I have only given a cyclic load and no permanent load. What could be ...

Re: Concrete Filled Steel Tubes (CFST)

Hi
I am modelling the cyclic behaviour of concrete filled steel tube (CFST)
column with RC beam. My numerical model fails to perform full analysis with
the full loading protocol whereas, in the experiment, the authors were able
to do that. I have given correct material properties input according to ...
