Hello
I want to model a two dimensional steel moment frame under earthquake loading. I am interested in obtaining information on the local stress state of structural elements (e.g. beam moment distribution), I want to apply all dead and live loads as gravity load by defining additional mass per length and checking automatically transform masses to gravity loads. Then I want to consider dead load plus 20 percent of live load as inertial mass and I want to apply it with lumped mass elements in each story level. But Seismostruct considers additional mass per length plus lump mass in calculating inertial mass while I have to define additional mass per length only for exact definition of gravity loads and I do not want to consider additional mass per length as inertial mass. I do not want to apply gravity loads as point load at end nodes. Please guide me what should I do?

Hi,
We are afraid that what you request requires explicit modelling of distributed loads, which is currently not available in SeismoStruct (we plan to introduce it in the future).
