Hi,
It seems that in order for users to be able to run SeismoStruct in a server-network environment (e.g. running Windows 2008 R2 Standard), it is necessary for all users to have administrator rights, which is obviously something far from ideal or desirable.
Is there a way of avoiding this?
Many thanks,
Server installation - user permissions
Re: Server installation - user permissions
Hi,
According to Microsoft Support, you may overcome such difficulties by customising user/folder access permissions in the following manner::
1) on folder "Program Files (x86)", in advanced permissions, for user group "Users", allow the following:
- Traverse folder / execute file
- List folder / read data
- Read attributes
- Read extended attributes
2) on folder "Seismosoft", in advanced permissions, for user group "Everyone", allow once again the following:
- Traverse folder / execute file
- List folder / read data
- Read attributes
- Read extended attributes
Hope this works,
Rui
