The incorporation of transverse reinforcement into member properties is accomplished through the specification of confinement factors or transverse reinforcement size and spacing, depending upon which nonlinear materials are adopted for the concrete core. These are specified in the “Material” as opposed to the “Section”, whereas the longitudinal reinforcement is specified in the “Section”. Transverse confinement reinforcing may be modeled using any of the following materials for your concrete core. See the Help System for detailed descriptions of each.

Mander et al. nonlinear concrete model - con_ma
Madas and Elnashai nonlinear concrete model - con_me
Kappos and Konstantinidis nonlinear concrete model - con_hs

Note that the “con_me” and “con_hs” material models are not displayed, by default, in the material classes displayed. To enable their specification, select “Tools” -> ”Project Settings ”-> “Constitutive Models” and check the boxes next to the desired material model.
