definition of rigid element

Post by khajehdehia »

Dear Friends

I modeled the industrial building with link element as a connection between concrete panel , panel to support connection and panel to beam connection i need to define the rigid element so that the link element placed between 2 rigid element how can i define rigid element, in advance i defined elastic element with high rigidity but unfortunately when i run the dynamic nonlinear analysis the divergence or pred ite error appeasers and analysis terminated whether there is any rigid element to define in seimostruct 6 ,how can over come this problem as i run the static pushover analysis an no errors appear in the analysis

kind regards

Dear khajehdehia,

You can replace the elastic element with high rigidity with contraints, and more specifically with rigid links.
Note that whenever you have rigid link or frame elements with very high rigidity, the force-based convergence criterion cannot be employed.

Tanks a lot, i have a question whether rigid links in constraints are able to transfer internal force or not

The rigid links constraint type allows the transfer of internal forces.
