Using the "Multi-linear curve-multi_lin" link element to simulate the degraded pinched behavior of a lap-spliced column under constant axial load and static time history analysis, when the analysis started, it goes on without any convergency and stops at the 10th iteration, but the SStruct does not stop it or give an error. The SStruct seems working and requires to be closed through Windows only.
The FE model constitutes a simple circular cantilever column, with the aforesaid link element at the base representing the lap splice. The link element properties are chosen with regards to the User Manual values for the pinched hysteretic behavior. Thanks.

Re: Analysis with no prompt when using Multi-linear
Dear Mostafa,
What you observed seems to be a bug of v6.5 in the multi-lin curve. The bug has been fixed in the upcoming v7 release, however even with that the initial loading could not be sustained, since you have introduced a multi-lin curve with a low yield capacity and low strain-hardening parameter in the vertical direction. We suggest that you employ another curve (e.g. Takeda), but you need to work out well the parameters of the curve (e.g. make sure that the vertical load of 592kN+(self weight of the column) can be sustained at an acceptable level of deformation.

Re: Analysis with no prompt when using Multi-linear
Thanks for the respond. However, suspecting the instability issue I had already removed the axial load but the same issue again occurred with the pinched type behavior assigned to "curve-multi_lin" link element.
By the way, the Takeda curve did perfectly work for the bond-slip and simulated the pinched cyclic deteriorating respond. THANK YOU!
Really looking forward to SStruct Ver. 7.

The new release is ready and currently it is being tested. It will be released in September.

Dear Mostafa,
Can you please send us the SeismoStruct project file that is giving the problems that you described above?
We will probably need it to verify that the model has been corrected in the upcoming release.
Many thanks for the continuous support.
