Slip parameters for Multi_lin and Smooth

Post by nuttaphon.B »

Hi, I try to model my beam-column hysteresis that have significant pinching. When I use Multi_lin, I use 0.05 for Slip parameter(HS). It's look nice but I found that I want to adjust an unloading shape of my hysteresis. Now I'm try to adjusting the parameter in 'smooth' instead f Multi_lin.

The question is How can I calculate the slip parameter in 'smooth' that have 2 parameters as Slip length(HSR) and Slip sharpness(HSS) to generate hysteresis that look like slip parameter 0.05 in Multi_lin.

Many thanks for your help.

You probably need to refer to the original publications, where the curves are described in detail.
One other alternative is to carry out trial analyses with a simple SDOF oscillator, trying different values of the parameters and seeing how the curves are affected.
