Hi,
I am running an eigenvalue analysis of a valve hall which contains roof trusses, steel column and sheal wall. In order to model the structure accurately,I use equalDOF in the connection of beam to sheal wall, and use link element to release the rotation DOF of some beam element. Unfortunately I get "unknown error" when i process the analysis. I found that two connected trusses element is one of the reason I get such error. However,by replacing one truss element by beam element, I still get the same error. Please help.

Re: unknown error of eigenvalue analysis
Hi,
Problem could be related to the missing DOF when you connect the beam element which has six degrees of freedom to the truss element which has one degree of freedom. I suggest you to use beam elements to model truss releasing all the degrees of freedom except the axial DOF using link elements. This could solve your problem.
best regards,
Kushan
